D'Apostrophe Brings Belgium's Best to NYC
New Products Launching Uptown at ICFF and Downtown at 394 Broadway

(New York – NY, May 2010) Move over Holland and Germany, it's Belgium's time to shine. Forget about the frites and focus on the well-designed, quality-driven products produced in this great country. To show off the diverse range of pieces now available to the US market, D'Apostrohe, the exclusive New York-based distributor of premier brands including Limited Edition, XL Boom, .MGX by Materialise and Royal Botania, has organized a multi-unit exhibit at the acclaimed International Contemporary Furniture Fair. These five inter-connected, mini-booths will be a showcase of form and function, uniting ergonomic design with material innovation. While the show is only 4-days long (May 15-18 at the Jacob Javits Center), these products will be permanently available at the D’Apostrophe showroom, located at 394 Broadway in New York City after the fair.





Limited Edition (booth 1404) is a Belgian-based carpet design house distinguished by its stylish collections of woven and hand-tufted carpets in wool, linen, cotton, leather or ‘cow-hide’. From classic to contemporary, the rugs are easy to order and offer superior quality. This season, fifteen impressive new collections as well as design updates to seven of its most iconic series have been added, many making their US debut at ICFF.

The Colorbox system is completely customizable. With 120 colors and 5 yarn references (cotton, wool, bamboo, polyester and linen), pieces can be mix and match to create a signature LE carpet. The LE custom pompons are based on color and yarn specifications of interested visitors. Once approved, these pompons serve as the basic composition of tailor-made LE designs.

 Mystic: This patchwork carpet collection gives new life to antique Turkish rugs. Based on original ancient Berber carpets, the recovered swatches are decolorized, re-dyed and sewn together to create a mystical and modern flooring solution.

WildSpirit (booth 1310) utilizes wood and leather as the basic materials to create design-driven accessories and small furnishings This Belgian-based brand aims to convert unusual ideas into inspired design products. Its mission is to let designers, the likes of which include Michael Bihain, Twan Verlinden and Eric Janssen, create their own objects with a twist, giving the product multiple functions and a signature style. Designed by Twan Verlinden, the bowl's perfectly round base gives it the impression that it floats. Filled with fruit, the bowl looks like an original fruit tray; empty it is a remarkable and attractive object.

MGX by Materialise (booth 1306) is next on the list of Belgian-brands, which will be presented at ICFF alongisde the Translation Armchair from Qui-est-Paul and several clay planters from Atelier Vierkant. .MGX by Materialise is recognized as high- tech leader who offers the architecture and design community an opportunity to create customize pieces, from furniture to lighting. Manufactured using a variety of 3D printing methods, the collection combines the best of modern and traditional craftsmanship and allows for the production and customization of shapes that would otherwise be impossible to realize. Whether formed out of epoxy or polyamide, each piece is individually drawn and created by laser beam, and carefully finished by hand.
